Another year, another successful Fashion week in Austin, TX. FashionX Austin’s AFW16 started on the 15th of April with a full on launch party, brunches, and weeklong soirées at various boutiques across the city in support of the budding fashion community in town. After 8 years, the success of the event has garnered attention nationwide with hundreds flocking to attend the festivities. Luckily, (and in big thanks to POM Media) Hues of Man was there to cover all the action for both Friday and Saturday shows. The runway nights consisted of collections by dozens of designers from across the country. For Friday, the lineup included:
• Jefferey Siberia: DtE
• Sonjia Williams
• Korto Momolu
• Gunnar Dethrage
• Gail Chovani
• Linda Asaf
• Rare Trends
• Sally Daneshjou
• Lauren Nicole
• Clan of Cro
We arrived around 7:30 and managed to check-in for press and do photo rounds. This year we decided to coordinate together and go on for a full Gucci look. BRING ON THE FLORALS! Yanira donned a pleated black skirt with a vintage Saint Laurent floral top, gross grain black bow, Gucci flower pin, vintage yellow lens glasses, and a Gucci wool knit hat. For myself, I wore look #5 from Gucci SS16

Friday Night Favorite
Gunner’s collection was our favorite of the night with a fun concept that fused vintage fashion with modern silhouettes. Within his collection we saw the late 60s and 70s inspired fashion (which we are living for! at he moment…) which drew are eyes- along with the glitter accents.
Saturday Night
On the final night, we knew we’d see the best of the best (and our favorites Ross and Sloane) so we wanted to go out with a bang. For our Saturday night looks we went for a more dressy Gucci inspired look. Yani chose some pink trousers, ruffled white top with a Gucci pink crepe silk scarf- along with Gucci aviator sunglasses with the clear tinted frame. And of course, I brought out the Gucci Tian suit from SS16 runway. So much positive vibes toward our looks- I’m glad everyone appreciated it!

Hands down our favorites of the night were Sloane and Ross! Both presented well executed collections with Sloane providing creativity and unique silhouettes and Ross with elegant and well tailored suits.
